Kate Reed Wood is part of the original airfield complex which provided the officers' accommodation. Most (if not all!) of the houses have now been renovated and substantially improved, creating a high quality, more established housing area on the development. The older houses have been interspersed with small areas of new development completed at the same time as the earlier parts of the Garden Village phase on Kings Hill.

This housing area is located at the western boundary of the Parish and has its own Residents' Association. Recently a footpath link between Kate Reed Wood and the main Kings Hill Development was opened at the rear of the Tonbridge and Malling Council Offices.
