Garden Village was the first of the new residential developments on Kings Hill and Entrance to Worcester Drive was first occupied in 1994. The entrance into the Village at the start of Worcester Drive is flanked by wooden archways on each side of the road. This Village features a central Village Green with a small childrens' playground and is partially surrounded by a bridle path and woodland walk. All road names have a "fruit" theme - for example: Worcester, Lambourne, Pippin.Village Green

The Village Green  has been used in the past for fun sports days organised by the Residents Association. The wooden gazebo at one end has traditionally (if a tradition can be established over a mere 6 years!) been used as the location for the Christmas Carol Concert, attended by a good turnout of residents, a brass band (more recently the Salvation Army) and Father Noel from the nearest church in  Mereworth Parish.

Bluebells on Bridle Path

Bridle Path

Woodland Walk

The bridle path  is a major recreational feature of this part of the development, offering opportunities for dog walking, cycling or gentle exercise with family and friends. During early Spring, the adjacent coppiced woodland  provides the fine sight of brightly-coloured bluebells. At the most southern edge of the Village the bridle path meets Woodland Walk, a gently sloping paved footpath giving access  from the central spine road) which offers views over Mereworth Castle.

Building construction in this part of the development is now nearing completion.
